I Will Wait for You, God

Remember what it was like as a young child waiting for Christmas? You knew in your mind that the big day would eventually come, but the days leading up to it seemed to slow down to a crawl. How can you patiently wait for God to solve the challenges you face?

Who Am I, God?

In his first desperate cry to God about the despicable circumstances in his nation, the prophet Habakkuk wondered why God wasn’t acting to fix the situation. But when he heard God’s response, he was even more confused.

James shows us two marks of dead orthodoxy and two signs of genuine faith. Hint: the dead kind doesn’t love and the living kind does. What step of obedience, risk and love  is the Lord leading you to take as an expression of your faith today?

What does real love look like? 1) no partiality; 2) valuing everyone; 3) speaking and acting with compassion.

Know the Truth

In his first chapter, James shows us truth about ourselves: there are blessings for the poor and humble and dangers for the rich and proud; life is very short; and temptation does not come from God but from our own hearts.

Just Rejoice

A Christian life of obedient, fruitful faith begins with a new perspective that is able to rejoice in suffering. And that new perspective becomes a call to prayer. Come be encouraged and challenged as we begin our “just do it” journey, cultivating the obedience of faith!
